Block Printing

India is, after all, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of block-printed fabrics. The traditional art of Block Printing has been practiced in India for more than 500 years. Each block print is symbolic of the country’s vast heritage and rich culture. Block printing is a simple and manual process, yet time-consuming. The wooden blocks are carved according to the design required and dipped into the natural or vegetable dyes and colors and then pressed on the cloth for the printing on fabric.

We, Shweta and Tulika, NIFT alumni began our journey together in 2000, and as time flew we together joined hands in taking off where we had left as our learning being our launching pads. The business as anyone would address it is the dream that we see in highlighting the long-lost glory of Indian Heritage through its marvelous folk art in all we create and bring it to the households of many like home decor. With the noble thought of bringing many artisans as are brought to this platform to gain their well-deserved share of name and fame which is their right. India is home to such exotic art and deserves its due attention.
